Seoul International Fireworks Festival 2018

 

Seoul International Fireworks Festival, a major festival in Korea, is an annual event organized by Hanwha Group since 2000.

 

The actual opening will begin at 7:00 pm and the fireworks will start at 7:30 pm with the Spain team, followed by Canada and the Korean team at last. Each team will show great fireworks for about 15~30 minutes.

Beautiful isle within an island: An Udo journey

 

Udo Island (east of Jeju): a popular island situated 3.5km off the coast of Jeju, famous for its pristine white beaches, particularly Seobin-baeksa Beach, and black lava cliffs.

Udo Island was named because it resembles a lying cow. It boasts fertile soil, abundant schools of fish, and scenic sights; local heritages (female divers, stone walls, and stone tombs), as well as natural attractions, abound on the island, making it a miniature of Jeju Island. The island is also full of amenities and tourism outlets: fishing, bike trails, sand massages, submarine tours, and cruises.

 

Seobin Baeksa (a white beach designated Natural Monument No. 438) has appeared regularly in films and TV commercials thanks to its breathtaking white sand and emerald sea. The sea around the beach showcases different colors depending on the water level. This makes Seobin Baeksa one of the most popular tourist attractions in Jeju-do, along with Hallasan Mountain. Standing on Udobong Peak (132.5m), the highest spot on the island, is a lighthouse surrounded by a spacious park. The peak offers outstanding overlooks of the island at a glance.

 

To protect the exquisite nature and promote maritime tourism, Bukjeju County designated two ports on the island (Udo Port and Haumokdong Port) and the sea surrounding it (25,863㎢) as Udo Maritime Park in January 2001. Visitors can appreciate maritime tourism at its best including a trip under the sea by submarine.

Seoul Attractions, Lotte World Tower Seoul Sky

Lotte World Tower, Seoul Sky Observatory

 

Seoul Sky is located on floors 117-123 of Lotte World Tower, the nation's tallest and the world's fifth tallest building. The observatory offers a panoramic view of the entire capital city, beautiful both day and night.

The observation deck has two-story-high glass windows for an uninterrupted view. The Sky Deck, located at 478m, hold the Guinness World Record as the highest glass-floored observatory in the world. On days when visibility is limited, visitors can still enjoy a clear sky through the Sky Theater. The 120th floor holds the Sky Terrace, open to the elements.

Mt. Bukhansan is one of the most beautiful places in Korea and it is also one of Korea's national parks. The Bukhan means North part from Han River.The national park is like an ecological island because it’s totally surrounded by urban areas, but it still serves as green lungs for the urban environment.Among the many hiking trails, one of the best scenic views is from the Hidden Wall trail, according to many hikers.
The Hidden Wall got its name as it is situated between Baegundae and Insubong peaks.

Following are some activities, you can do with children in Busan.

 

1. BEACHES:

There are several beaches around Busan that are child-friendly: Songjeong, Haeundae, Gwanganli, and Dadaepo. They all have lifeguards during the official beach 'open' hours between 9 AM and 5 PM.

 

2. SURFING LESSONS:

Surfing lessons are available at Songjeong Beach along the beach and on a street parallel to the bridge. All offer 2-4 hour lessons.

 

3. FOUNTAINS:

There are also small fountains at Zooraji, a theme park on the top of Shinsaegae Department Store in Centum City, which has also a slide, pirate ship, and another small children attractions.

There is a fantastic water fountain in Dadaepo Beach which also offers an evening light show

 

4. GWANGALI MARINE SPORTS CENTRE:

Offers water activities for children and adults such as windsurfing, motorboat, banana boat, kayak, cruise, dinghy, skin-scuba, etc. The Centre is at the far corner of Gwangan Beach.

 

5. BUSAN AQUARIUM:

Located in Haeundae Beach, the Busan Aquarium features 250 species and up to 35,000 marine animals on display as well as an 80m seabed tunnel.

 

6. BUSAN CITIZEN'S PARK:

This park, located near the center of Busan.

The park offers five themes(memory, culture, pleasure, nature, participation) and 29 attractions including a Pororo library and a waterfall.

 

7. Children’s Sand Playground:

A 10 meter high and 30-meter long sand slide with five lanes and a sand play zone will be in operation from April to June and from September to November. Location-Haeundae Beach

Originally a poor hillside neighborhood, the village was named its current name in 2009, when local residents and artists in the Busan region began refurbishing the entire village into an art village.Rows and rows of small houses closely huddled together along the hillsides and the ones that are empty have been turned into unique areas to provide cultural and art experiences. Enjoy a wonderful time taking a stroll through this charming village and make sure to climb up to the ‘Haneulmaru Observation Deck’ for a beautiful panoramic view of the village. It is also an excellent spot to take pictures against the colorful backdrop of the village.
